 I know. it was sad. They were smaller then the others but they must have found stuff to eat in there.

You could probably use a nice filter sock to keep the little buggers from getting sucked in.........

I have to get one myself because the sand in my 20 gallon is killing the impeller in my Penguin 200 filter. I just ordered one & it costs $17.99. I could start looking at new filters at that price........... :grr:

hey lovelies!

i fell asleep sitting up at my laptop i was so tired! im still playing with my hardscape too :( will post a pic once its lookinga bit decent. ive only got 3 plants at the moment aswell which is making my tank look even worse

whats thet tall plant on the far left of your sig picture ruskull? the tallest plant?

Hey Staxx

It's a combination of plants. In the foreground it's an Anubias mounted in a piece of wood. Behind it are a few Wisteria plants. They grow like mad with good lighting. To the left of the plastic root looking thing is a fat Argentine Sword plant.

Wiestria is cool if you want to fill a taller tank with some green pretty quickly. They grow about 2 inches a week in my tank with good light & when you clip them you can replant the clippings. It's like free plants! A decent size bunch of Wisteria is only $2.99 at Petsmart.

yeah im looking for like a "wall" effect at the back of my tank. something which is tall but not to wide or bushy

ideally kinda seaweed looking. im new to plants and looking to get a nice planted tank going now ive got a substrate and hardscape i like.

normally i just go to LFS and pick up the plants i like the look of. they have either melted to nothing and then died or looked so unhealthy ive binned them. i dont run CO2 or ferts YET but in the near future i plan on some kind of ferts and maybe push for CO2 if the wallet stretches that far

so far i have 2 ludwegia and 1 bush thing which ive been told might be Cryptocoryne wendtii brown

Wisteria is a pretty bushy plant. You might be better off with Bacopa Caroliniana (Lemon Bacopa)

Or maybe try Vallisneria, I've never had them but they look great if you can find them.

Hey Lovelies!!!

I am fairly certain that the feeder guppy I bought is an endler..

She is sooooooooo fast..

Named her Chevette for obvious reasons..

You Should get a new filter. haha. I can't do the sock thing because of the plants. I am pretty heavily planted and need as much flow as I can get. Moving the inlet up 4 inches will work fine. When the khulis get bigger I can lower it again. The other 4 khulis that were in the tank this whole time are already tripled in size, so it will only take a week or so to plump up these others.

I'm checking out a couple of Eheims that Manofish found for me. One that I want is a Eheim Pro II 2226 and it's supposedly around the same size as the Rena XP3 I have, maybe a bit smaller. 250 gallons per hour and good enough for up to a 92 gallon tank. It'll start off on the 20 gal tank & eventually end up on my new 40 or 55 gallon when I get it. $80 plus shipping, which might make it too expensive. To be honest I'd rather get another Rena because I feel like I know those better now.

I love the Rena filters, but I've said that before.

I have an XP2 and XP3 and would DEF. get the XP1 for a smaller tank. Love them! lol Wish the inlet bar was black though. That's the only thing I hate.

I would get the XP1 for the 20 gallon but I plan to upgrade sooner or later. Too much is better than not enough

That's what I would do then. Get more filtration, overfill the filter with floss and media, and then turn the spray bar down.

Hey Lovelies!! Guess what?!!! My 9 month old just walked for the first time. Not just a step...but stood his chunky butt up {an achievement in itself  } And literally walked 4 steps!!!!

I want that 2226, so I need someone to buy it before I can :D

Oh and hey lovelies!

I got stung by something 3 #71###ing times!!!!! Was just doing yardwork and I guess the stupid little guys thought spray paint was threatening. Unsure what they were. About the size of a fly, could fly and had stingers.

just gave my filter a quick clean on the inside. found a danio and 2 shrimps. dont know how they got in there unless they got sucked up when i took off the intake grate to clean it the other day.

turned my filter back on and it spewed algae and green gunk back in to the tank. so i guess todays tank cleaning day now

Hey Lovelies!
Seems like my main line of internet doesn't work today for whatever reason. Oh well, backup con's always on, only reduced speed. -.- Hope dad will contact the ISP, also has to pay for this month.
