plan on getting the stand put together then off to the LFS for wood, a pump and a smattering of other odds and ends...

I really want birds.........

Going to petco later, gonna return a dead cherry barb and get 2 more males and 1 female, hopefully a clown plec too, and possibly an albino bn. Gonna look at the birdies. They're so cute

What does the pet shop do with the dead fish? Why does it have to be brought there anyway? And if it is for identification, anyone can bring any dead barb to get it replaced lol.

I saw birds in the mall pet shop (the one where I didn't like how they kept their fish and plants). They had a lot of budgies and cockatoos.

At petco they've got a 30 day guarantee. Your fish dies, they replace/ refund it, as long as you bring in the body.

You get your money back. I think I did this with cardinal tetras once, but who knows. I had 10 and I had just bought 5 and 6 died in ich. Who knows if they were the new ones or the old ones but I got a refund for 5 of them.

They don't do refunds here. One of my swordies died within the 1st week, probably because of a combination of stress from being bullied and stress from the beginning of the fish-in cycle. If I had a mature filter that time, maybe I could have kept her alive. Eris survived 2 months now and her colors are much brighter than how she looked when I bought her. She was such a skeleton back then, now she's plump and perky. Maybe a little too perky... LOL...

I'm in the market for another canister filter! I'd like to get a used one again and now I'd prefer a Rena since I already have one of those. Probably the Rena XP2

My 20 gallon sand tank currently has a Penguin 200 on it & it's starting to make noise. I think it's getting too much sand in it......

I'm not that handy.........rather just get another of what I have so it keeps it simple.

Freakin HOB filter is making too much noise and I'm sure it's slowly being destroyed by the sand. Besides, a brand new Rena XP2 is only like $100 with free shipping at Petmountain.com They even have Aquatop Df series for $100 or I could get a Cascade for even less........

I got stupid today..

Bought some sand for the new tank..

also got Malaysian drift wood, air pimp, power head, led air stone a check walve.. and perhaps my greatest deed..

There was a lone feeder guppy, last one in the tank... I took her home for 15 cent..

I'm not that handy.........rather just get another of what I have so it keeps it simple.

dude, buy a power head and some ceramic filter media.. get a water bottle, poke some holes in it, boom..

that's exactly why I bought the power head today.. remember I was blathering aboot my new filter being antiquate?? Hence the project..
