I bought one a while back, it’s making it’s way around the tanks… I like having individual tools for my tanks, so I suspect I’ll buy more… I have several tanks that get hard diatom algae on the glass, and the magnetic scrapers with the plastic scratch surface, can never fully remove this hard algae… today, my hillstream tank, with a water change and hang on tank filter cleaning, and razor scraping, the tank looks like new… there is still an algae film for the fish to graze on, on the structures, but the front glass is clean… I’m also beginning to cut back some of the bushiest of the roots…

I cleaned the filters on 5-6 tanks, which had gone at least 6 months… which is honestly too long to go…

have got to reposition the magnetic scraper, but it’s looking better…

I agree; razor blades are always my 'go to' for cleaning the glass. However, nothing fancy in my case - I just hold the blade in my vice-like grip!

One sided painter's blades for me, and wet arms.

I love the look of my tanks when the algae is cleared. Sometimes it can be a thin biofilm you barely notice on the glass, but with a cleaning, it's so much brighter.

this is the tool I bought, it’s actually listed as a sticker scraper… I still keep a magnetic scraper on each tank, for run of the mill common algae and bio film, but for the hard diatom algae, the leverage and reach of the long steel handle makes short work of had algae I could never remove with the magnetic scrapers…

multiple blade storage in the handle, it come with plastic blades as well ( which I have never used yet )

I have always used the Kent Pro Scrapers. I have both a long handled and short handled one. They share the same b;ades. I have 3 different blades- Sainless steel. plastic and mini algae pad. I rarely use the plastic ones as they are for Acrylic tanks I think.

Those Kent scrapers are the best ! I had one once but misplaced it somewhere and I guess I should get another one .
