An fx5 would be the best bet, the lph (actual) is immense. Don't get the tetratec 2400, they're way too noisy.

The ex1200's are the jewel in the crown for tetratec. Very very good units. Easy to maintain, easy to prime, just great products.

Unless i brought the same one that everyone else who purchased the 2400 had i doubt it mate. The problem is that the 2400 uses the same impellor as the 1200... So the same size impellor is being spun twice as fast which makes a horrible sound.

I would stay away from Fluval Externals, their internals are amazing, but their externals especially the FX5's are recipes for disaster. Seen so many horror stories on this site of Fluvals malfunctioning and flooding rooms, just stopping working, O-ring seal going etc etc etc. Stick with Tetratec or get Eheim, 2x 1200 IS YOUR best bet.
