Firstly id like to introduce mine, Hes gorgeous, its the only picture i have of him my memorystick broke

Currently has no name, obviously cant tell what sex lol i thought sugar puff but decided against it.

Id like to just check it definately cant be kept with any other fish as i was on a few websites and apartenly they are only agressive to smaller fish? Any truth in this?

Also he currently eats muscles from my local aquatic centre, however dont shoot me down if it sounds dumb i wondered can he eat muscles from the fish counter at sainsburys as they are alive which means more fresh or are they purified for human consumption or salt water so he cant have them?

Probably sounds dumb but worth a try;

I think hes around 4 inches atm and i was told hed get to the maximum of 6

Dude, your fish is great, i had a target puffer and she was awesome until she died. 6" max more likely not much more than 4-5" in captivity.
If your wondering how i sexed mine, she laid eggs.
as for the muscles, i know aot of people get them from the supermarkets rather than their LFS as they are a lot cheaper and they are totally fine to use

Is he definatly not allowed tank mates do you know? As i read they only go for smaller fish?

It will attack and either disembowel or maim other fish if my target puffer is anything to go by. Check the pinned thread at the top of oddballs, everything relating to "target puffers" relates to your fish.

My one was extremely aggressive with anything in the tank, and i would not have given her anything to take chunks out. she even used to attack the siphon tube and anything else i used to put in the tank. What a great fish she was, still sad she has gone so much character

So, in regards to the muscles in sainsburys on the fish counter they are definetely ok for me to buy for my fish? Just to make 100% sure, will i need to take them out of their shells?

I never gave mine muscles in the shell and never had a problem with her teeth, maybe someone else would know better. i used to buy the frozen muscles and defrost/feed her. she loved them.

You could be correct simonas, it may be a Leirius.

I remember seeing a few of these puffers in wildwoods and i could not decide what of the 2 species they were.

maybe someone with better puffer knowledge could determine it.

I would have said leiurus but it's inconsequential really, all target puffers need very similar requirements.

You could get 3 dwarf puffers in there
