Test Strips

Hi I am having a nitrite problem, and was told i need testing kits to help monitor it with my water changes. I was told to get a liquid testing kit, but when I went to buy it the pet store said i don't need that and just get the 5 in 1 strips, now that i get home with them i googled them and people say use liquid insted as they are hard to read. Think i should just take back the 5 in 1 paper strips for a liquid nitrite tester, or are these strips good? I thought i would ask here first.

The paper strips are notoriously inaccuarate; I'd take them back and get a liquid test. Never listen to what any LFS tells you

The best liquid test kits recomended are the Api freshwater master test kit or Salifert Profi test kits in My humble opinion.

Yeah >< also when I bought the water conditioner they sold me a smaller bottler of the same thing insted of stress coat, buggers lol

Hey just to give you an idea of the inaccuracy of strips vs liquid. Spending the extra money on the liquid is totally worth it for you and your fish. Using jungle five in one strips/ammonia strip and an api master test kit and api gh/kh liquid test.

Test strips:

Ammonia .25
Nitrate 0
nitrite 0
gh 75
chlorine 0
kh 3
ph 7.0

Api liquid tests:

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 20
PH 7.5
gh 180
kh 6
