Temporary Tank Ideas?

Couple of days ago my little sister wonders home from her school fair with 3 goldfish which she won on a stall! Now she knows i hate fair stalls that use fish as prizes and so said she had to save them.. but i have no idea what to do with them??

They are in a round goldfish bowl (yes i hear you all gasp but its just as a very very temporary measure-until i can find a new temporary tank) they are very small at the moment but as I'm only 16 I can't afford a giant tank for them to grow in to..

I want these fish to have a good life so as soon as I get my parents to get my savings from the bank i will upgrade there house but for the time being has anybody go any ideas for better tank than the goldfish bowl? (budget of up to £25ish) Any ideas at all welcome!

Short term a storage bow would work, you can pick 50L+ ones up for crazy cheap they you would just need a powerful filter because there very messy.

They need a pond long term, it just isn't fair to confine them to a tank in my opinion.

I do know someone with a koi pond ... would they be eaten by the koi?
As they are fair ground fishies.. could they pass anything on to the koi..?

In the meantime, they are going to need daily big water changes, with dechlorinated tap water.

As already said, a pond would be good.

I thought the practice of giving them as prizes at fairs was now illegal?

Unfortunately not; you just have to have a licence or permission from the local authority; so a stiffly worded letter of complaint to them would probably be in order.

Depends on what space you have and what your allowed to do, if you allowed to do anything look on here, ebay, aqaurist classifieds,gumtree etc, you may find free tanks or cheap near you.....or you could build a pond if your allowed in garden..
