my dalmation molly gave birth again to more fry - 60, she does this every 2 weeks, this time i gave some to my convicts because i really cant handle all the fry. Am i wrong for giving the convicts the fry?

Imagine how many of those fry in the Natural world would make it to Adult hood, you have no natural predators in a tank

Back in the day, I used to keep brine shrimp as pets when they were marketed as Sea Monkeys. Now I'll happily feed them to my fish!

i made a bad mistake - i just released one fry in my 20 gallon which contains 6 leopard danios and 4 mollys, the molly fry was 1 inch, big enough to be released.

As soon as i released it the 6 danios was like a swarm of piranhas and they murdered it , ripped it to shreds and ate it, why?

Seriously its just nature, fish eat bigger fish, simples.

Its definitely not cruel, its very good source of nutrition for other fish to eat fry

Definitely not cruel! I keep mollies in with my Angle Fish just for the reason that it bring out good behaviour in the Angel Fish, Hunting the fry! Its the same as feeding any live food to fish!

Very true, How come the mollies didnt touch the fry but the danios were all over it?

Fish don't have the mechanism that we have that tells them when they're full. If it looks edible to them, they will eat it regardless of how long ago they last ate.
