I am looking to keep feeder clams, Tapes Japnoica to be exact (manilla clams, japanese littleneck clams). I am planning to keep them in a 10g with a small bit of live sand and crushed coral, and probably nothing else at all. I am unsure what food(s) I should add to the tank, and how often I should add them. Also, would having several hundred of these small clams produce a serious biological load that I should be considering? I am planning to cycle the tank for them by adding ammonia every day to grow more bacteria faster.. would this be enough?

Thanks for any ideas here,
Robert

well several 100 in a 10 sounds like ALOT if we are thinking about the same thing... anyways im ptretty sure they are filterfeeders so they will need some sort of zooplantone.

Live phyto maybe? not sure about no filter etc. But at least use some live rock and a powerhead.

ste :)
