Tank Placement

Bedroom, Familyroom, and a small betta tank or such looks really nice in a bathroom :) I don't really see how you could have it in your car though....

Wycleff Jean has a fishtank with a shark in it in the back of his Hummer. Water was dirty as hell. It was just water and the shark. No substrate, nothing but water and a big ol shark.

I would put tanks in every room if I could.......but I do like to think that they go where they will be viewed and appreciated, and where I can keep an eye on things.

The lounge one we have is good as it makes an interesting alternative to the TV.

The kitchen one is fantastic as the family are always in the kitchen and whenever I make a coffee or get a drink I have a good look round it.

The hall one is good for sitting on the stairs and watching the goings on!

I always fancied one somewhere in the toilet, so that when anyone was doing what they do, they could have some entertainment.

As our downstairs loo shares a wall with the lounge, I did consider having one between the lounge and the toilet...........with some sort of one way glass on the loo side (to respect privacy  ).

The other side of the other wall in the toilet is under the stairs.........I have seen an under-the-stairs tank before, lots of room, but not much viewing area.

Currently re-building a corner 55gallon.......that is larger than my current 36 x 15 x 12 in the lounge, but will take up less room.... :D

Here's the perfect accessory for you guys who want a tank in the bathroom. I saw one of these installed on a home makeover show. I don't think I would pay $5500 for it though.

wow, that is sweet!. wouldnt putting an open tank in a bathroom be kind of unsanitary? when people take dumps, bacteria goes into the air. its not enough to harm humans, but fish are a lot smaller than us.

Thanks for that Dorkhedeos!!!!!
That is so cool though! I want one!
I'd happily turn my bath into a fish tank and just use the shower that is not connected to the bath!!!

I have to disagree.......That turns my stomach......On the wall,by the wall....yes. In where you are going to wash.....NO!!!Just my opinion.....but It doesn't work for me.

The best places I can think of is putting one is in a wall dividing the living room and the kitchen, in the bathroom by the sink or somewhere around there, and in the bedroom as a headboard(atached to the wall)

Ethos, just, like, make a fish shed! Your about as old as I am, and I live near you, I could help.

There's actually a toilet that's also a fish tank like that sink... the guy who invented it doesn't know anything about fish, btw. They had a special on animal inventions on Animal Planet one time, and it showed the inventor and his lovely toilet tank full of goldfish... and his goldfish being kept in 1/2 gallon containers...

It'd be weird, but kind of cool at the same time...hmmh...

If I was single and not restrained by a sensible other half I would have tanks everywhere...so much so I wouldn't need the walls to be painted, the tanks would act as wallpaper :p

Tank as a bedhead...hmmmm

Tank is the bathroom....YAY!!

Tank as a room divider :hyper:

Surely tank in bathroom = plugs in bathroom = good chance of electrocution?

Well being a newbie I only have the 1 tank, in the living room (but ohh the possibilities! :))

I don't think I'd be comfortable putting one in the kitchen ... too much grease & cleaning products.

Bathroom either - would be worried about poisoning the fish  .

But everywhere else would be fair game!!!

And that sink aquarium is just ridiculous - how do you wash your hands with hot water and not cook the fish???

Well, the fish dont touch the water at all - The whole tank in enclosed.
So, you wouldn't have to be worried about coeaning the tank with windex, taking a poop...ect..
