Suggested Size For A Betta Tank?

I can get a small sponge filter, 8ish dollars.

Air pump? Not so sure, dividers I can get, but I won't need it.
Food, betta's like bloodworms and fish flakes? plants, I can just steal one from my 29g tank. !!

Am I prepared? Also, what's the use of air pump? it brings water circulation into the tank, also releasing oxygen into the water, or something like that? I've never bothered to buy one, since my frog's dont like that stuff, neither would my cray.

5 gallons, no smaller. Sponge filter which is run by an airpump, a heater. That's the basics. Plant it fairly densely to provide hiding and resting spots.

Well i'll try..

My limit is, 120cm length, 60cm width and 100 height Looks fine so far,
except for that my lps/walmart sells a 5g for, at least 40 dollars. (Ripoff, or no?) And my limit is 25 dollars.
