*gloat gloat* I have picked up today, 6 stunning juvi bujurquina. They were marked as sp. Goldline, however I cannot find any details on an sp. goldline :( I know they are not Vittata because they have a cheek spot and the lateral marking is a black solid line from the eye to above the tail with a tail spot. In happy mode (feeding) they do sport some stunning banding and they have green/blue facial markings.

I will attempt to put up pics later, just having an argument with my laptop and camera :(

Any suggestions :)

This might be a wait and see what their adult colouration is

Not the best picture as my camera is not working too well :(

Ah nice! Where did you get them from?

I had a "pair" a few months ago from Wharf with the same label - I looked around and thought they were Bujurquina Mariae which there is very little info about on the net but there are a few pictures. I made the asumption it was these because of the cheek markings the sort of elongated diamond shape sort of below and behind the eye.

Like I say I had 2 but one got seriously beaten up and the only fish that showed any signs of a scuffle was the other Bujurquina... the remaining one I think was a female but wasnt sure she was generally well behaved in the tank but formed part of the upper level of the hierarchy in my tank behind my Severum but not sure if she was number 2 or behind my Threadfin Acara. I eventually traded her with Liam for the Laetacara Thayeri group :) But in his tank she became a nightmare and had to be rehomed again :/

Maybe in a group they will be ok though but just watch out as they could be quite tough on each other.

I found a pic of a mariae, it does look very similar. These are just babies so the cheek spot may disappear. I got them from Tropical Waters they only had these 6 in so nabbed them :) with the 3 thayeri. I only went in because they had a diadema powder blue?? advertised, but that had gone :(, you know what its like walking into a fish shop, you cannot leave without something lol.

They seem to be quite chilled at the moment, odd chasing nothing major considering they are in a small QT tank.

Finally some better pics.

This is the boss of the group, (presumably) as he/she is 90% of the time showing the banding and very dark eyes and does most of the chasing, feeds first etc.. You can just about see the blue/green on the face on the one on the right..

The one far right I am a little concerned about, they were all very skinny but this one has really large eyes..

Thayeri being nosey lol

Group shot, Including thayeri again.

Wills, is this one a possibility do you think??

Ooh, these are nice.

Don't think have seen them in my LFS, but a nice addition for your tank :)

Thanks Charlie, I didnt actually go for these, the shop had a fish in that I use to have and miss dreadfully, but when I got there it was gone, so I ended up with these little beauties :) they are not found in shops very often.

Update:  out of quarantine and loving their grow on tank :)

Thanks Dougie :) thankfully all now have nice rounded bellies and a good shape, I was concerened about a couple of them when I first picked them up. I just hope they calm down as they mature, they are nippy little blighters.

Yep I think they are sp.Mariae still.... probably wont calm down that much....

Cheers Wills :) they are not too bad with each other, its if I put my hand in the tank they go nuts at me.
