Strange Newt

I recently changed my newts tank from a 1 Gal. to a 25 gal. Ever since I changed,my newt has been going under the rocks. He usually can get out himself but once i had to take out almost all of the rocks! Is it curiosity or is he looking for something?

Do you have water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Did you match ph and temp.

probably just settling in. if you had water problems it would be trying to get out the water. new and unfamiliarly surroundings can take getting used too. its, probably not found the edges of the tank yet. i guess you can imagine how frightening that must be.
