Blue Acaras are a nice fish :) And would work well, breeding can toss up some issues but in a tank that size lots of space to get away from the other fish. What about a Rotkiel Severum, cute faces and nice reds and greens in them :D Geophagus Iporgenisis (spelling) are always nice like a mini Braziliensis and a group often work out nice in a tank of your size :)

Can i ask why you would need a uv sterilizer? ive never heard that one before.

They don't need one, As far as i'm aware UV sterilisers are a algae control device that you attatch to your external filter pipe work, you get good Ebjds or bad quality Ebjds, the good quality ones like i had and sold to a friend are as hardy as a normal Jack Dempsey...they just grow slow.

The only other cichlids i know of that are called 'Electric Blue' are Electric Blue Rams, which would not be suitable with BGK and Eels and the malawi Electric Blue hap, which would work, but wouldnt be ideal (i have done it before).

What about a Rainbow cichlid you wont get much more colourful than that and they would fit in well.

+1!!!

Rainbows are immense mate, their colouration tbh is very hard to beat. They are also very easy going. Also consider Honduran Red Points. I know i keep banging on about them but they definately deserve mentioning. The female is a very intanse neon blue when in full health and colour, and the male is a nice pale blue with peachy orange fins. Really striking.

Here are my HRP's, male at the top, female (although not really a telling picture of her) in the pot.

And here he is, darker, protecting his babies:

Also, as mentioned, Rotkeils are very nice and colourful, but i wouldn't exactly call them cute. lol.

Not colourful - but if cute's what you're looking for, Cupid Cichlid (Biotodoma Cupido). They have cute little eyes .

Oh, what's cute about an eel?
AmazonFTW
i think eels are cute, especially morays..lol. blue acaras are sometimes colorful, ive seen god pics. ill look up cupid chilids. :good:

Duh, why didn't I say that... my mind blanks when I find questions that are fun to answer. These are a great choice, +1 for Rainbow Cichlids.
they are pretty, but it doesnt seem to fit in..

omg im so exited! here is my wishlist:
ellioti
honduran red points
blue acaras
yellow convicts

it would be wonderful if i had a giant 100 gallon aquarium with each of all the fish i love! say, can these 3 chilids work together? (probably not!) :good:

It depends if you want a pair of everything. My Ellioti (single male) is in with my HRP's (Breeding pair) in a 180 litre tank, so you with a 90 gallon should be fine. I believe the Acara's breeding behaviour is more aggressive and the male tends to beat the female up due to him wanting to breed again and the female not being ready? Although they're lovely fish, i wouldn't have them for that reason. I'm quite happy with my lovey dovey rainbows and red points.

If its just one of each then i dont see why it wouldnt work. You might even get away with a pair of the Elliotis and 1 each of the other 2.

*gasp* yay! ill try it! im really exited about the blue acaras and the elliotis especially! i luv the HRPs too!

oh wait....i read that the elliotis get 8 inches,, thats kinda big?

ALERT ALERT!!

i dont remember if i mentioned this but i have a RTBS...is that ok? if its not, then i can easily switch the RTBS with my rainbow shark and then they will live happily ever after!

I would say your tank at 90 gallon is plenty big enough for a pair of Ellioti's and a pair of HRP's. If you're looking for yellow colouration then look for yellow convicts.

Ellioti's can attain 6ish inch and the HRP's about 4-5.

im gonna get one of each maybe, (someone i forgot his/her username said so that i could)

i also forgot to mention that i had a RTBS, is that ok? i can always switch him with my rainbow shark. :)

but the elliotis are kinda to big to fit in right? ill go look at the yellow convicts :)

gasp those yellow convicts are so beautiful, and a perfect size too!

so this is what im thinking:
1 bgk
1 peacock eel
1 albino bristlenose pleco
1 male ellioti
2 yellow convicts
2 HRPs (or maybe 1 if possible?)
1 RTBS (if this dude doesnt work out i can switch him with a rainbow shark or just move him out)

Can you just confirm what your tank size is? Litres and Gallons.

400ish litres - 90 gallon? That would be plenty big enough for Ellioti. They top out at about 6" rarely do they attain 8" !!!

Mine is in a 3ft tank and he is happy enough :)

Well all EBJD can get sick... and a malawi Electric Blue hap is a African cichlid can not go with BGK...
