Yes, I agree with this. It falls into the category of putting live plants into the beginning of a fishless cycle, hoping a few of the beneficial bacteria are riding along attached to the plants. From the point of view of real seeding (ala mature media) its next to worthless, but on the other hand, when you're sitting there looking at a bare tank fishless cycle with no mature media its easy to want to "grasp at straws."

I guess my numbering it into that list above probably made it look more "legit" than it is, sorry about that!
