thanks alot i thought that but was not to sure i have 2 females and 1 male then. now just wait and see what happens

if the male does pair off with a female they will most likely chase and probably kill the other one, you can't keep them in trio's like with some other fish, and also just because you have 1 male and 2 females doesn't meen they will ever pair off, the male has to find a female that also wants him, and they pair off, normally for life, i had 6 assams with 2 big males and the rest females and none paired off so i got rid, good look with them though, but if you do see the male and a female chasing the other female than remove her before she gets hurt.

nice chunky looking assams!!

stick with them it took over 18 months for my channa orientalis to breed and I nearly sold them just before they did the deed!! worth it though cos Channa make the best parents and the fry are ace

yer i no i did have 4 but one got the plan is to get a pair and move the othere one on. i am enjoyin keepin them so the fact of breedin them is not a big deal at the min would be nice to have some try at some point. or he is a fat male like. at the min the females chase the male about. in the past week he has gone realy blue and looks unreal. thanks for the help guys.
