its not the tank and lights tho. its the live rock, and all fish fish pushed by expensive equipment that makes it a lot of money.

Try reading the item information, then you'll realise why the seller is wanting £4K for it, the tank as a whole is worth £8K, not to mention the man hours that have gone into setting it up and maintaining it, marine set ups on this scale aren't cheap!

only expansive equipment i see is chiller.. thats the reason i sayed it may worth under 300 quids.

You obviously don't realise the cost of marine. As others have said Live rock + corals + stock make this worth what he's asking. Tanks are worth very little but marine gear as long as it's a decent make really holds it's value.

here is a similar story.. years ago i bought a toyota supra for 13 grand. spend 8/9 grand modding on it..
4 years later i sold it for 6 grands.. because that's is the market value..

That's because of depreciation, different brands of cars depreciate at different amounts, the same can be applied to fish keeping; tanks etc depreciate a lot, where as specialist equipment such as calcium reactors etc hold their value, as does marine live stock, some of which listed is not easily acquired, have you ever kept a marine set up? Do you have any idea of the costs incurred when setting up let alone maintaining a set up?

i never kept a marine aquarium.. as i have no intrest.... i grow up few 100 meters from reef... i find marine animals a disgusting

but i have bought and sold 17 marine aquarium.. full setups. including animals.

and lots of equipments.. mh,chillers, reacters, you name it.. i bought and sold.



plus who care about the man hours.... really.. who cares about man hours.. why is it matter to me? the buyer.
