Some More Guppies

They're eating now. I also found a 5th fry in the tank. Not only do I have guppy fry, I also have snail babies too. I was really suprised to see the baby snails. The larger snails are only babies themselves.

For guppies, your cover is in the wrong place. Guppy fry seek cover on the bottom of the tank at first. I most often discover them hiding between individual gravel grains or in java moss that is lying on the substrate. Swordtails and platies are another story entirely. They will indeed seek shelter at the water's surface.

I have java moss and lots of plants for them to hide in too. Most of the time I find the fry at the top of the tank though.

I now have 9 fry (there was a 10th but I couldn't catch it). It took my female 3 days to finish giving birth.

11 fry now. All of them are healthy. 2 of them have some black on their tails, which is weird since these guppies don't have black on them except them females who have a little black on thier tails. It's still a little weird though.

You cant stop these little bliters.

I had 100's over the last 4 years! down to 3 pairs now but still find fry with them.

The 6 week olds are developing color and the males are developing their gonopodiums. I have 54 fry and I'm expecting lots more soon.

You will soon be facing a population explosion in your fry tank if the males are starting to develop.
