Just found my candy striped pleco dead
He was fine yesterday....so i can't understand it
I have 3, i bought them together as a 3 so they all new each other, they have lived together well for a year, i was just wondering could the other 2 have sided against that one as it was the smaller as the 3.

Yup. Plecos can kill each other. I had it happen once to me. I added a new Pleco and I saw them fight a few times then a few days later one was dead.

Most plecs are fairly territorial and if kept in too small a tank, they will kill each other, especially if you have multiple males....

How big is the tank and what is the decor like?

Atm 3 ft, which is really upsetting because very soon i was going to move them in to the 4 ft, i made different areas for them each. But they have been together, i have had them for a year and they have been fine.

I thought maybe the 3 i had were males...but not too sure
