I don't remember him doing it in the shop. I bought him on monday and got him home and into the tank with no more stress than was unavoidable. He was very excitable in the bag, thrashing around! Since then, his little mouth has been constantly opening and closing. He goes to the top for air occasionally, but no more than normal I wouldn't say. He's in a 5 gall for quarantine, with sand and lots of plastic plants for cover. I haven't switched the light on all the time he's been in there. There's natural light and he's next to my betta, so gets some light from his tank when it's on.

puald, he looks fine, nothing to see on him, behaving fairly normally too, maybe a bit skittish. It's just this breathing thing.
