Do Mystery and Ramshorn Snails do well with sand as a substrate?
Also, what is the best way to wash sand so that it doesn’t cloud the tank?

First question: Yes they do well with a sand substrate. I have them in all of my tanks.

Second question: This is how I do it...

Take a 5g bucket (clean) outside near a hose. Then, fill 1/3 of the bucket up with sand (some prefer 1/4). After you have done that stick the hose in the bucket. Swirl your hands around in the bucket, mixing up the sand. When it gets to the top, let it overflow for a bit, then dump it out. (The water only, not the sand)

Repeat what I said above 2-3 times until the water in the bucket is fairly clear.

Then, wash more. After you have washed all you wish to wash, but the sand in your tank. Fill the tank all the way up for tap water and then drain it. (This will make the water less cloudy)

After you do that, fill the tank up with dechlorinated water. The water may still be a little bit cloudy, but give it some time. (The filter will help with that.)

Hope this helped! :fish:
