Skinny Platy?

Feed him some de-shelled peeas, just kinda squish em' up a bit between your fingers so they go into small chunks and threw em' in! It's supposed to help, did for me anyways! It saved one of my male platies from this disease

Swim bladder has many causes.
Bad diet, over feeding, injury, birth defect, bacterial, internal parasites, constipation,
Dried foods, bad water quality.

Oh ok. Should I feed them more vegetables now and only save the dried bloodworms as a rare treat? & I'll try to get the peas today. I just fed them flakes and I saw him eat, so hopefully he's getting better! Thanks for all your help :)

Good news! Just bought some frozen green (tiny) peas. They didn't have regular sized peas... well they had sweet peas. Not sure what the difference is? Anyhow they all gobbled it up. It was funny because I tried putting it in front of the sick fish first yet he was last to figure out it was food and eat it  he eventually did though!

Should I feed them peas tomorrow too? He's still quite thin... but still acting normally.

Hi guys, I came home from school and Wilfred died :(...... still unsure of the reason.... never saw any parasites/worms. All the other fish seem ok.. for now. :( Fed them peas again, planning to do a 90% water change later today. Should I redose the parasite tablet again, or should I just let them be for now?

2 of my platies are pregnant now.. I was wondering if it would do it any good if we removed all the fish and water and cleaned the tank really well to kill the parasite or.. whatever is killing my fish.

Awh RIP Wilfred  I personally would just do a large water change and leave it at that.

Ok thanks, I think I'll do that :) I'll have to vacuum the gravel really really well.. hopefully none of my other fish get sick ;_; already 3 deaths in a row! :(

3! That's awful! What were the other 2 deaths for? At least you got the lil' babies coming

I never found out! I think they all died of the same cause. Well actually prior to that 2 gold barbs "disappeared" .. and I suspected Wilfred ate them (since he was the largest and gold barbs are tiny). I only witnessed a red platy who died of what I thought was swim bladder.. like a week or so ago. I saw her having trouble breathing and swimming so I separated her.. but she died :/ Then another gold barb was having trouble swimming (and eaten by Wilfred when I wasn't looking -_-) and then Wilfred who was totally fine this morning and yesterday... :(

The problem with internal parasites is that they cause alot of damage to organs, resulting in bacterial infections aswell.

I don;t think the med you are using is going to do the job either.
It's not the correct one to use.

:rip:

:( Do you think it could spread to my other fish? they seem fine right now.

Yes the parasites can spread.
If another fish sucks some fish waste up in there mouths, it can also pass onto fish this way.
Fish eating infected fish.

Have you seen any dead worms in the tank substrate.
Any dead worms hanging from the fish anus.

No, I haven't seen any worms.. ever. I didn't even see Wilfred poop prior to his death. Should I take all the fish out and clean the gravel thoroughly to make sure they're not hiding in there?

Just preform a gravel vac.
No need to remove the gravel, and fish.
