Side Flicking

while watching my fish this evening i have noticed at least 5 different fish flicking their sides on the plants and rocks etc in my tank, all my fish are looking and acting healthy, am i about to suffer an outbreak of something in my aquarium or am i being anxious over nothing,i have looked for evidence of whitespot but dont see anything, all help greatly appreciated

have you tested the water for ammonia, nitrite or pH drops at all?

the first thing to do is to check the water quality when fish start to flash against things. poor water quality is normally the cause of most things in an aquarium.

sometimes fish will flash if a large water change has just been done. have you done a change today?

if you have tested the water what were the stats?

what is your regular maintenance routine?

am due for a water change tomorrow stats are ammonia 0 nitrate was ok but forgot the exact figure ph 7.6 these relate to my last test a week ago temperature constant at 74. my routine is a 20% weekly water change followed by testing and adding liquid feed for my plants

ammonia 0 nitrates 10 ph still 7.6 readings taken today after my water change. the flicking appears to be subsiding tho 1 or 2 still do it occaisionally

Are they doing to to each other or just randomly and are they scratching themselves on stuff?

You should get some eSHa 2000 and treat the water. Mine are doing this and my corys are going white. Ill let you know how the treatment goes. I defiantly recommend it.

Once water quality is ruled out then it's likely to be gill flukes or white spot. If you cant see any spots on them then presume it's gill flukes and treat accordingly.

eSHa 2000 isn't a treatment for flukes, and so as they're the most likely cause of flicking (if no white spots are on the fish). Then it wont do a whole lot to help.

Probably not if it was gill flukes (from what I've read). I'd definitely try a specific medication first with a wide spectrum medication if that doesn't clear it.

My fish also turned white then transparent.

It does state on the box, "fish are flicking" under the things it treats.
