Ah ha, that is exactly the heater I have been looking at :good: Should I get 2 x 200 or 1 x 400 do you think?

And Bagu, you are an exceedingly kind bear  thank you

ps just been off to look at the deltec skimmer, some seem to be saying they are very noisy (vibration), my tank is in my living room  so I want a skimmer which is quiet. I understand the TMC is quieter - woo hoo, more research needed

Ah but also depends on what sort of fish you are going to keep - big, dirty fish need a bigger skimmer, I think

You going to tell them about your big boy sis?

Patience Big sis :p I'm saving it all for my new journal, which will be starting pretty soon :yahoo:

Personally, I run one only  Loads of people say to run two to get even heat distribution, avoid failures e.t.c, but the fact of the matter is that one of the two heaters will do almost all the work, and the other will switch on and off a lot more regularly, increasing the likelyhood of a failure... The fact is that it is impossible to get both set up accurately enough to do the same ammount of work without using a temperature controler, as the stats just aren't that good and precice. If you use a temperature controler, you are back to the issue of a single point of failure

i would always go with digital heaters from now on, after loosing a proven wild caught pair of rams

There is a review on skimmers in this months PFK, both the Tunze and Deltec are mentioned, both appear from the mag to be very good at there job. They said the only drawback to the Tunze was the cost, that seems a good price if you can it not far from that. The Deltec MC600 is also said by them to very very good.

EDIT to put in letters at beginning that this damn wireless keyboard missed.

Personally I would never get another V2

I had 1 it died after 3 months

The shop replaced it and that died as well

I'd go for an Aqua Medic or a Deltec skimmer
