Fish Crazy
Well have been thinking about getting 2 of these guys for a wee while and saw 2 in the LFS today that i just could not leave.
I felt so sorry for them as they were crammed in a tiny tiny tank and had been handed in from someone who had also kept them in a tiny tank.
I currently have them in a 3 and a half foot tank,i know this is not ideal but it is very over filtered and alot bigger than they have been in up till now, they will however have a bigger new home in the next few weeks once i have done a bit of moving stuff around to fit another tank in.
When i first put them in thier new home they had a look around and about 30 mins later they were both at the bottom of the tank almost lying down,i was really worried, but i went and picked the kids up from school and when i got back they were swimming around happily
I have noticed they go and hide if anyone goes upto the tank for too long,i'm hoping this is just them being shy until they settle in.
I have never kept oscars before (have done alot of reading though) so any advice on them would be great, especially the best foods for them etc.
Heres a photo i managed to get of them earlier
