I will now put my Old Fogeydom on full display for all to see. Until last year I didn't even know what a meme was. The sheer stupidity of them and the numbing mindlessness was a major factor in me quitting Fakebook forever in perpetuity. That and the politics. Wake up people ! It's somebody else's idea of what's funny and it ain't funny. Canned humor just like canned capitalist music and television. Be yourself.

I still have not been able to understand exactly what a meme is and it has been explained to me many times. And in looking at was posted above I am even more confused.

A meme is essentially a picture with added text, that is supposed to be funny.

Like this for example:

It’s essentially asking you to pretend that you were playing Rock Paper Scissors in the mirror at midnight, and you win. Which is normally impossible, because it’s your reflection.

The guy that is saying hold up is a character from the video game Fallout, who is in a lot of memes.
