Seashells In Cichlid Tank?

Just getting back from a cruise in the Bahamas. Brought back shells and a couple large coral rocks. Can I put them in a 55 gallon tank with African cichlids? I know it raises ph but they like a high ph. What about conch shells too? Bought one of those as well.

I would say yes to both. Maybe best to either boil or pour boiling over to kill any nasties
