Scratched Tank

Bought a second hand glass tank but not sure if I scratched it whilst cleaning it or whether they were there to begin with.Is there anything I can do to try and improve the situation ?

Might just try and sell it on again if it doesn`t clean up as the scratches would drive me mad ...

Depends on how deep the scratch is. If you can feel it when running your hand over it then it's beyond repair. Otherwise you can buy some powder on eBay and polish it off yourself. The name of the stuff escapes me but I'm sure someone here will know...

just bought a glass scratch removal kit from ebay - hopefully it will help take them out completely or at least reduce their appearance.

let me know the results. ive managed to put a 3inch scratch on my tank and im gutted.

well didn`t have much luck - guess the scratches were too deep. Have seen a few kits that actually fill in the scratch - just like how they repair a chip in a windscreen.

Rogue4fish might be worth a try at the polishing powders first but if it is deep you will be there for ages and might not get it out altogether.Now I shall be looking for a tank about 260 litres ... any suggestions on where to buy ?

jewels rouge? I tried this on a electric polisher to no avail.
