So i have a 10 gallon tank i used for my hermit crabs they were in the for about a month and we gave them to my friend... now what i am wandering the and i have in the tank will it work in a fish tank it is a calcium sand so i am wondering is it going to affect the ph or anything i know i am going o have to clean the sand i plan on rinsing it good and baking it in the oven to kill bacteria but i just want to know if it is ok for fish and such

It will drastically raise the pH, maybe not suitable depending on your tap water, but you should only go for fish that like a high pH if you use it, like malawi cichlids and mollies and guppies should be OK, but test your tap water first to see how much difference it will make to the water.

IMO for a 10 gal you should just get new sand, playsand is very cheap and inert, while it looks better and more natural than coral sand too.
