for those of you looking to convert over to sand. Walmart has started carrying the big 50 pound bag of play sand in the home and garden centers. while i know the hard ware stores carry them, just picking it up at walmart with what ever else they might have might save some gas.

Do you know how much it is?

I am looking at putting sand in one of my new tanks soon.

Holy crap, I would say that is on-sale...lol.

I am going to my walmart tonight and that is the first thing I am doing, is buying a bag of that!

I just got 2 50lb bags of "premium" play sand from Lows at $4.65 each, And I was not supporting the evil Walmart corporation.

just remember its a 50 pound bag so bring help!

also how is walmart evil. they make things affordable at a time when prices are sky rocketing and people are out of work. there prices are low and makes things like food, medicine and clothing affordable to those who may not be able to afford it other wise. think about it even basic fish medicines, tanks, food and other equipment more affordability then your lfs.
i guess that's the cost of being good at what you do because someone will always tear you down.

Well I went to my Walmart and I could not find any of the sand?

I looked in the home and garden section.

Does anyone have a pic of the bag so when go back I know what to look for?

Thanks

Ditto that! I love Walmart. Low prices and it brings jobs to people who need them.

LOL! Wal-Mart has no workers union, ALL of them are on minimum wage and they destroy any local business in the area not only that the store is pro child labor and sources all its labor to poor countries where workers can be exploited. How else would you get such low prices? Wal-Mart is thee absolute worst place to shop.
