Here is a short vid. Or maybe she saying rawr!

Its really pre-shedding behavior. They shed like a snake, start at the head and usually can do it in one whole piece. Yawn really wide then rub head in gravel that's how it works.

I love him and want him!!!

Ok, thats just the strangest, and cutest thing i've ever seen in an aquarium - all at the same time! They're amazing!

guess who

ilike the vid and the eel, lol@ the second post from bottom that doesnt get it

I have an upcoming 61 gallon tank which will house just 2 fish, my Jack Dempsey pair and there is nothing on this earth that could make me want to make that toal fish count become 3, BUT this "eel" is seriously making me question if it could live in that tank with them. I don't want to ruin my tank for the sake of having something quirky and different though. Its South American so it fits in that respect with my South American Biotope. However i'm in the UK and doubt i could get hold of one. I hear theres a strict import/export ban on these, which i guess is sad news for me in the UK aye?

Seriously seriously cool amphibian though!

I;m in the UK and although its taken a couple of years I got one !!

Ok, thats pretty darn ace then. A few years? Blimey. If they could be compatible with my Dempseys, even during spawning i would concider one as an usual side piece in my tank. However i'd never sacrafice my dempseys breeding by adding a questionable egg/fry nibbler. Also then theres the case of finding one to buy if i were to get one, sounds like it could be hard. I suppose asking for a special order in a decent LFS is a possibility.

Finding information on these beauty's is proving harder than i thought too. Seems not much is known about these creatures. I'm captivated by them, i don't know why i'm so drawn to them.

What a cutie! Would yu ind giving me a little info on this animal? She's is amazing, and I don't know anything about her:(
What is the tank size they should be in?
Ho big do they get?
What do the eat?
