Red Snakehead

Just do a quick google search. "snakehead illeagal US" or something like that. They have been illegal for quite some time now. If they weren't illegal, I'd certainly have one by now.

snooks1 I don't believe they are necessarily illegal in the U.S. but they are illegal when it comes to interstate commerce. The transportation of these species from one state to another is illegal, I believe, I'd have to go look up the statues. However, in many states, especially the eastern coast, they are illegal in state statutes. A few years ago some moron released some into a lake in Maryland. Well needless to say they thrived on the local wildlife and plant life and reproduced. The tank was so destroyed that local officials had to poison the lake just to keep the little monsters from traveling anywhere else. I live in Florida, and here everything is illegal, wolf fish, Asian arowanas, piranhas, dorados, African tiger fish, snakeheads, and my favorite the freshwater stingray. Anyways, here's a link to the article if you want to read about the ban and the destruction. So in reality they are not illegal, you just can't transport them into the country or across state lines. Also check your state statute books on them you may find you can keep them in your state, or even that you have something illegal, lol.
