Reccomendations For My Tank

I'm just planning on what to stock my tank with when I get back from holiday.

My current thoughts are:

8 x Guppies
8 x Black neon tetra
6 x Amano shrimp
2 x Otocinclus
8 x Cardinal tetra
2 x Gold or Bolivian rams (depending on suitablility)
2 x Red Robin Gourami (red honey gourami I believe)
1 x Golden nugget plec (if I can ever find one in stock)
2 x double red apisto

Firstly, does anybody see any problems with that stocking?

And what other fish would go well with these? I was thinking something that likes the top as the middle is a bit crowded. The more colourful, the better, but peaceful is the most important.

what size is the tank first

It's 240 litres (about 60 gallons I think)

##143### puts that stocking at around 85%

You want to Amanos in there, as algae control? If so, for a 240ltr tank, you will need to up the amount, to have an effect x

How many?

The last week, the algae growth has significantly reduced and they've only been in 2 weeks (may be that the growth is slowing rather than them making a difference). I'm hoping that lowering the lighting a little and eventually getting curtains for that room will solve it.

If you want shrimp you will have to feed them algae wafers/vegetables in addition to the algae; as they won't eat all forms of algae.

Amanos eat most forms of algae, one of the only that do.

I would add another 4 amanos in for now x

Panda Garras could be your answer to algae control. My three have made the QT spotless in less than three days, cannot wait to add them to my Rio 240 and let them loose on the beard(?) algae on my Java Fern!

It's hair algae, problem with that is, hardly anything eats it when it gets long.

I do feed them algae wafers now and again, for them and the oto's, but they get on fine without them.

None of this is helping with me deciding on a nice fish to complete the stocking though

I love rams, but most rams need high temperatures, and my current fish aren't really suited to that.

Bolivians are my most viable option, but I was hoping for some ideas for something not on the list yet

A group of Hatchetfish (which would suit the mainly South American theme) or some Forktail Blue-Eye Rainbowfish could fit the bill.

I wasn't actually going for a theme, they just happen to be the fish I like the best.

The blue eyed forktail rainbowfish look interesting. I wonder how hard they are to find around here...
