I corrected my earlier post. there IS an albino G. pygmaeus, more recently introduced. Does your fish have pinkish-red eyes?
No idea he's tiny plus I had four bags to deal with. ( ember tetras, amano shrimp x 3 plus another which wanted to join them and 10 yellow cherry shrimp).

Maybe a photo would help to indentify the golden dwarf...

I just did a google dive on that trade name, and it seems it may be a new label for G. pymaeus. I saw sales listings but the photos weren't golden. Nor were the references - it gave me the heading but the articles never used golden.
Maybe they're just trying to differentiate the species with the pygmy cory group, if there isn't already an albino on the market. An eventual phone picture would be cool, once the fish is out of quarantine.

I noticed multiple online UK sellers have pygmy albinos for sale

And I see there are a few sources for them this side of the pond as well. So they are out there now.

Thanks for the photo. Glad to have the mystery solved. And the good news is your albino will associate with the non-albino G. pygmaeus.

Did the source from whom you bought the fish label it "Golden Pygmy..." as opposed to "Albino Pygmy...?"

I believe it was an error on my part.
