What I would be mainly worried about is pollutants such as heavy metals... but if you still add conditioner you should be good as long as you watch the Ph ............. but if you add conditioner (which you should).. then why dont you just use tap water and make it 10x easier

And I can be pretty certain that most wild fish in industrial nations (or have prevailing winds that come from such places) are full of toxins not only from rain, but also from man-derived chemicals that are pumped directly into the water system.

Perhaps you might like to create "natural conditions" for your own fish by keeping a bottle of sulphuric acid by your tank, adding a few drops after each water change?
