Questions About New 4Foot

Hi. I just set up a 4foot on a stand and filled it with water/gravel. 2 issues:

1- the water level isnt straight,its about 1 cm higher at the back than it is at the front. I guess the floor is not quite even, is this 1cm difference going to be a problem?

2- the foam mat i put under the tank must have moved a little and at the front there
is a thin overhang where the tank doesnt have foam under is. Is this ok?


Any advice would be welcome i havent worked with quite this much water before so im a little cautious!

i would sort out the level. I cant see it being a huge problem - so long as there is enough space around your filter inlet (ie its not out of the water) and you can adjust the outlet (again, so its not spraying everywhere) but im guessing this is OK because its higher at the back.
But i would sort it out, cos i think it would look bad.

Again with the foam, aesthetically i would move it, but it shouldn't cause a problem if only a little bit has not got foam underneith.

Is the tank on a slope becuase of the foam being in the wrong position?

I wouldnt worry too much about a 1cm difference in the water level, non of my tanks are level

with regards to the foam, is that stated as required by the tank manufacturer? Most new tanks are designed to not have any foam support and using foam can distribute the weight unevenly.

What make and model is your tank?

I have never had a perfectly straight water level, just goes to show how uneven my apartment is

deffo dont worry.. you got more chance of your air pump emptying the tank than a little off tilt ( been there dun that)

My fluval roma 125 is at least 10mm out of level. I'm not worried about it.
