Quarantine / Nano Tank

I setup the tank yesterday, its a 17L with 100 lph mini internal filter with spray bar, heater and led lighting. i set the filter running with a strip of filter media from my main established tank and fresh de-chlorinated water. (as i missed my water change day from my main tank)

i bought 5 neons and 1 v small platy today and put them in the 17 l tank. Will the small filter media be enough to keep the levels down, or will the filter media not have enough levels to keep it alive ? i fed v small amount this evening to keep something in the tank to begin the cycle. Im hoping to only keep them in there a week tops before going in the main tank.

Do you have a test kit? I'd use that and just check the water stats daily and you'll know where to go from there

yeah i can use my api test kit, but didnt want to be worrying about it in teh middle of the night etc...

I would say that a filter with seeded media and a turnover of over 5x your tank volume will be fine. As mentioned, just keep an eye on your stats. Don't think the tank is big enough though for the fish you have? Neons need space as they are very active (or at least mine were) and the Platy will probably outgrow it too. Just have a quick look into it to see if this is the case. I am probably wrong though
