is my platy ready to give birth? i had her in a breeder but she seemed really stressed so i let her back out. she’s active but the male follows her around and pokes at her butt. PLEASE ANSWER! i want to save as many babies as possible! she also had a white pimple thing on her butt. i can’t get any good pictures at all!

Have you got lots of floating plants, the fry will hang out in them and will be safe.

i have two moss balls and several planted fern like plants!

Yes you need amazon frogbit or duckweed and then she should calm down a bit.

You could even use plastic plants, or netting, as long as they are clean and aquarium safe...

she has given birth- not all of them though only around 6. she is still pretty round- they are hiding right now amongst the moss balls so tomorrow i will be heading to the pet store to grab something for them, most likely floating plants/toys. what plants should i look for?

Frogbit, duckweed
