Pregnant Mollie (Again I Hear You Say)

Personally I've always fed them ground up flake and/or brine shrimp. But I've never really kept a large amount of livebearers so couldn't tell you what is 'best'. Maybe have a look around the liverbearer section until someone else replies?

I feed my Molly and guppy fry ground up flakes, just use the back of a teaspoon to grind them into a powder.

I crush up all variety of flake & other foods including baby brine shrimp which you can get specifically for the fry. Variety is the spice of life and touch wood they are all doing great!! .
Really wish you the best of luck & it's great fun watching the little fellas growing!!!

Thanks. I have just stuck with liquifry. One was deformed and unfortunately managed to escape and get eaten. Were down to one fry now but its looking very healthy and growing well. Cant wait to see what colour its going to be.

Preggers molly looks like its practicing.... Or trying to find the best place to drop its fry. Were going away for four days next week, what do we do about water levels and feeding main tank and fry?

Gavin, I am presently away from my fish because I am attending the ALA, American Livebearers Association, convention. As it turns out, fish can readily survive being deprived of their regular feedings for several days.

well it would seem she wasnt pregnant but actually ill. She died after growing a bit more. Not sure what of? Very strange!

Havent a clue!!! She was missing in the morning and i found her dead inside the ornament! :(

Atleast our orange molly gave us more fry :)

Its always sad to lose a fish, atleast i find it so! (anyone would have thoguth id killed enough to be a bit blah-zey about it, but no!) but its possible that it was just the fish, i mean if everything else is ok, and obviously by the fact one of your mollies is birthing, conditions were right for them to procreate.

Are you using the liquifry stuff? it might be misinformation, but i have heard that can mess with water quality. Are you noticing anything? i havent tried it myself, i chose to use crushed flake instead because of the risk.

anyway,
best of luck with your new babies!

Luqifry is fine, hasnt changed my water quality at all. I started adding the crushed flake to their diet a few days ago.

EDIT: wrong thread! Lol!

More fry due in the next few weeks im guessing. Also added two female guppies, beautifull things they are. Looking forward to seeing the offspring :)
