thats my look on channa i just love them, hows your tank set up?my four sometime's gather in a group and rest within the vallis...
I have around 10 different hiding places laid out aswell

had to take one pulchra out he was in a really bad way, somethings hapened to the harmonmy in big way last 24 hours!!!

the other one was absolutley hammered as well so I hav two perfectly untouched pulchrain one tank and two batterd big time pulchra in another!!

well this is how you go through the pain of getting a pair, it is a shame but this is how channa are, you should be ok they do bounce back from some really awful wound's, good luck with it mate,

befor I moved the last one yesterday I noticed one of the attacks they are very vicious fish and its not superfical wounds they cause... theres bite marks on thge side

fingers crossed and I have no doubts that they will recover spot on and then I look forward tosome channa jiggy jiggy in my tank... always been a bit of a voyeur!!! I lowered the water an inch or two yesterday rather than changing water

Just picked up my 7 inch Stewarti from my mate, he didn;t want to keep it as it wouldn;t get on with his other one so I got him for free!! pics to follow

Could I have rainbow (bleheri) in a 36 x 12 x 18" tank? With nothing else obviously.

If so, how many, Iknow it needs planting etc.

Or Nelly, what do you have available that I might like

id say yes you could keep bleheri in a 36x12x18, either get a pair (which might be hard to come by) or get a group or young bleheri, about 6 maybe, and wait for 2 to pair off and sell on the rest. they shouldn't be hard to sell on!
they gachua sp. turquoise that nelly can get are nice fish, hardy and stay small, i would say bleheri are nicer though its your choice!
i kept 6 assams in a 100 liter juwel tank and know theres only 5 but 2 are a good 6 inch and they seem perfectly happy! bleheri get an inch or so bigger but if they pair off a pair should be fine in there for life!

I'm so cheesed off at how carelss I have been

I had managed recently to see what I thought were a pair out of my pulchra that I've had as a group of 6 since may 08. My supposed pair were now about7 inch and loking lovely

anyways goes out to walk dog at 11.30pm and noticed a pulchra on my path near the pavement!!!! I had opened the lid of my pulchra tank at 3pm when messingwith the plants, it must have escaped then unfortunately wit hthe other one that i cannot find!!

It had walked about 15 ft and I assume from 3pm till 11.30pm!!! icannot believe it but now I;m cheesed off for being so stupud as these are my favouirte channas

no hes right as rain pickedhim up in a net and he tried to leap out the net , feistybugger, hes lurking mid water in tank now looking mean but not that rough

crap time for me to be honest cos losing intrest slightly with fish but I think thats cos me and mrs going through rough patch which may impact on my fish long term!!! I got the asciatas a couple of weeks ago and I;ve had the Stewarti about a week now, hes a stunner but hides allthe time
