my mate come over earlier to collect a few babie's and wilst we were catching them two or three appeared out of the rock's that were double the size of the babie's  hehe they must be the rock boy's as in hiding in ammoust the rock's  hehe may have to take everything out soon and put them in there own tank, not sure how long before the parent's will concider them a threat,

how comes they grew so fast? do you think they "ninjad" all the food lol ?

its game over for the wee nipper!
Dead as a door nail when i went home before. Im quite satisfied i did all i could to save it so its just one of those things i suppose! The other 5 are going strong!

finally saw them both having a good feed last night :hyper:
threw in about 8 worms and they went mental for them, most active i have seen them since they arrived, was well chuffed, they seemd to be a lot more active after dark, when i put on just a dim self made lamp in the hood of the tank, or maybe they are just feeling like they are settling in now, either way im pleased as punch :)

Somethings happening in my pulchra tank
there are 4 in there and they;re about 6 inches long now and very chunky
1 hasbeen battered in a big way and is hiding constantly in a corner, he is joind at that end of the tank by another who has been battered but thats a newer occurence... the other two are fine especially what seems to be the dominant one which is prfectly finned and gorgeous looking

is this the signsof a pair forming I want to be sure before I take the other two out?
theres been no body wrapping

Hehe glad to hear shela, my channa bank's are still in hiding, however if i leave them to it,and watch from a distance they go about there bussiness til i peer in, they scatter like naughty kid's....It's usual behaviour with any fish esp dwarf channa, they are wimp's really  give them a while, even know if i move to quick toward's my ornatipinnis tank they scatter leaving the juvi's to face the music, they bigger they get the more corsious they get

Yes mate this doe's sound to me like a pair forming, same thing happened with my ornatipinnis, there was only three but one was battered and the other two were near perfect<except old wound's> they did not show any other sign's until later on maybe a month later, i personally would be inclined to either watch cautiously until i witness something myself or just remove the two beaten pulchra and see how the other two act alone
But this is providing you have time to do this, otherwise try cramming the tank full of different place's for them to hide and just throw in lot's of plant's plastic is good a cheap.

wimps! haha that reminds me, you know they get sort of hand tame, a far as coming to take food from your fingers, the other day when i was feeding the assams the ittle flap thing off the juwel aquarium lid fell off and into the tank! they all swam off and hid and havent been to take anything from my fingers since!

Well i got my channa Oritentalis Kottawa this morning:) they have really nice colouring , one went and hid , two are chilling in the plants and one seems to have made friends with my senegal and seems like staying near my internal filter. Hard to get pictures of but will get more once theyve settled down .

This ones the bigger one that seems to have made friends with the senegal

Heres the other two that laying in the plants . Can't really see the heads vary well but get an idea of the colouration etc.

And the Very sexy Senegal

Indeed perfect size fish, a little big too big for my bichir to consider them food and theyre too small to eat any of the tank mates.

channa swap preformed, i now have three of these

They are like foster children as they will be going to a very large tropical fish pond when a friend in london has finished building it, she already has three mircoplete's in a 350us gallon tank which she has five more tank's even bigger for them when they mature, these guy's are by far the biggest of the gaint channa....so obviously it won't be long before they depart for there new home, I felt if bolty returned them to the shop which sold them to him, telling him they would max at around 18cm or somewhere in that region, they would get sold like that again, i sourced a home for them and can grow them up abit here first, at present there in with my channa bank's for a couple of weeks to grow, then i will transfer them to the 5ft for a while...the orange on them now is soooo intence  but my camera is up the creak now
They look so different as juvi to mature adults
