We got our 40g tank off my Dad a year ago tomorrow. Complete with everything. Over the past year it is almost entirely different... as far as the tank decor and 'layout' goes, my hubby likes it one way, and I like it more the other (won't say which ;))

I'd like opinions on which you like the look of more. Try to ignore the fish, one has too many, the other only juvie angels, so looks a little bare.

There is absolutely no question about it - and the statistics show that 100% (well so far!)

By far, pic #2. Love the natural look and I am not a big fan of the multi-colored substrate and blue background of picture #1.

It's obvious picture 2 is a womans choice, they have more artistic flavour, sorry fellow lads. But agree, it's true! (apart from when it comes to high-tech planted)

Definitely number 2! The sand and the black background look great! Make the plants stand out. :D

EDIT: The first one reminds me of what you get in your local chinese takeaway! No offence!

..haha.... :D

...number 2 for me.........although I would have said that it was more of a masculine look..... :good:

....what on earth did you do with all those huge fish?

LOL. The parrots and gourami went to the LFS, the oscars to my uncle. We now have the plec, who you can't see in picture 1, I guess he was hiding, a different gourami, 3 corys and 4 juvie angels. My choice was the second, which is obviously how it is now... and hubby has kept saying he preferred how it was when we got it, big fish and all, but I think it is growing on him. I'm so glad the majority agree! LOL
