I'm on old hat in fish keeping, but new to Chichlids other than my Oscars.
Was sold this today as a "Red Chilli Cichlid", and I'm assuming this is waaay false as I find nothing on a search of this that looks like this fish.

Just want to know the ID so I can give it the correct parameters. Cheers.

Definitely a flowerhorn, and as nelly says it is definitely a Texas/Carpinte x something. Most are very territorial, so your decision to keep it alone is a wise one. He won't develop his kok until he is older. Not my cuppa tea, but good luck with him.

Yep its a flowerhorn though it looks like a normal ZZ to me (nice looking one though).
