90L Dirted Planted Tank

The tank has been doing well, probably is due for a plant trim soon. Sadly, as some may have seen, I lost the alpha male a week or two back. The dynamic of the tank hasn't been the same since. The Sawbwa don't come to the front as much as they used to, and only feed in tight groups compared to when they used to dart around the tank pecking at bug bites. I'm hoping this is just a blip in their behaviour. I'm still considering adding some form of Loach or bottom feeder. Probably a 6-8-sized group. The tank is more than established now, and I reckon it can deal with a bit more bioload. Ideally, something from Lake Inle would be best.

The past couple of weeks haven't been good. I've lost two more fish, a male and a young female. Both were found floating at the top, unlike the alpha male who was found at the bottom. The young female did have one different symptom, however. A large chunk of the body, exposed near the anal fin. I only caught it last night after work; she was dead this morning. I'm wondering if this is a parasite. I once had a male develop a hole in its stomach, and it later died a day or two later. The majority view on the post I made was a parasitic worm.

I have another male at the moment, not looking too good as well. Its stomach has gotten huge, and its eyes are bulging like a fancy goldfish. Medicating this tank is going to be a big pain. Unless I can fish them out into a quarantine tank, which I have no room for at the moment.

So now I'm on 8 fish with another potential one on the way out.

The Sawbwa are here!

Today I removed 12 sawbwa from my Fry tank into the 90L. I drip acclimated them for 35 minutes, and I didn't need to temp acclimate them as both tanks' temperatures were set to 22°C the night before. There are 3 males and 9 females.

There were some other changes I've made to this tank as well. Firstly, I did a massive trim of the stem plants and removed a large portion of the floating plants. I then added my Cryptocoryne Undulatus from my 60L. The main plant is on the far right side behind the Rotala and a baby plant is with the Wendtii in the center. I'm hoping they will adjust ok to the new environment. Secondly, I removed the monstera and the unnamed terrestrial plant from the tank and replaced them with a peace lily which looks great. Again I'm hoping it adjusts well to its new environment.

Lastly, I've lost 3 cherry shrimp since they were added, all to the same thing. WROD. Luckily the last death was a week or two back so I'm hoping for no more cases of WROD. I've been adding mineral blocks as well to help the shrimp. So far many have molted successfully and I also leave the old molts in the tank. But there is some good news about the shrimp! The baby lives!

Perhaps I should name this one?
Pardon my ignorance what is WROD?

White ring of death. Usually caused by a failed moult of a shrimp.
