Pictus Catfish

I have 5 pictus catfish 2 algae eaters and 1 fiddler crab. But the point is that the catfish are always at the top of the tank crowded by the filter.Then sometimes they do a spinning motion really fast......is there a problem or am i doing something wrong

Usually fish hanging around a filter outlet shows that the water is not to their liking, either ammonia, pH or not enough air.

More info on the tank and water stats will be required for a better answer.
