The gauntlet has been thrown! <GRIN> Maybe this weekend I can get my dear sweet hubby to take some digital pics of my 3 lovelies outside. We can't get over how much their colors have deepened in the sun. Cho-Cho is finally coming up to eat in front of me but still refuses to eat from my hand; Keitaro and Tanaka are just too skittish still. Color wise, Tanaka is still the prettiest with his? deep tiger stripes of red and black, but Cho-Cho is still THE head fish. Sorry I've been slow on this. Guess we're experiencing our "illness year", as my Japanese friend calls it. Dad's up for major surgery, my son and I are still undergoing many tests, and I've hit positive for Epstein-Barr; maybe it's Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Anyhoo, will try and do for you asap. Even if they're not show quality, we still love their sweet, finny hearts

i slap you with the gauntlet glove :p

I know what you mean about the colour, last weekend my fish were in a tank deeper than the pond for an over night stay and the koi's and all carps colour had faded so much due to the lack of sunlight.

I like the sound of the Tanaka..just looked through the book and couldn't find a pic of any of yours :( guess I'll have to wait patiently for you to take some snaps!!

I had the chance to have a Hi utsuri-which from your description sounds the same kind of pattern as your Tanaka but I gave in to the Goromo :)

Hope your families well again soon

Fish we bought at the weekend.

Look like a great pond and a nice little Sterlet you have there although as you know he won't stay little for long! My 24" gaint is amazing though.

It's about 7 inches now I hope it does get bigger. Do they grow fast??
Ponds just over 8x6 and about 4 ft deep at one end, I'd like it bigger.

Not overly fast, they tend to slow down at about 10-15" IME butI should think he will double in size in a year to 18 months.

ok one more question ,hows it built ,single course brickwork ?
im only asking as im thinking of ways to build the 8x6x3 ,id like to be certain a single course renderd will take the weight
