Peat Slugs

I have just got 300g of peat slugs through to soften the water in my 90L aquarium. It has an over the tank filter which runs the length of the tank.

How much of these slugs should i be putting in? If i put in LOADS, will the PH plummet, or will it reach a steady level? How long do they normally last?

I would add a few at a time and monitor your ph until the desired level is reached.
But when the peat stops releasing the tannins, you will have to replace it with fresh.
