I have recently bought a secondhand one metre long tank which is framed top and bottom.
The silver paintwork on the frame is rubbish to say the least and I would like to paint it a different colour.
Can any of you folks advise me as to what paint I should use?

Thanks

David

if its metal, use a good rust paint like tremclad

Thanks for the reply Mikey. I've got a sneaking suspicion that that the frame is some form of polycarbonate/abs/plastic as opposed to metal.
I've not heard of Tremclad. Is that an American product the equivalent of which would be Hammerite here in the UK?

yes its a popular rust paint in north america....

not sure what you would use to paint plastic with though

Thanks for the thought Mikey. Hopefully someone who has done this will come up with an idea for me.

there are paints available now for pvc windows... google it.

Thanks tribalbrit. I'll have a look at that.

Try a paint called zinnser , it lets you go over any surface and then you can paint with oil or acrylic in just a couple of hours really good stuff , all paint shops sell it in the uk
