Not had f&c for over ten years. Used to live on the coast with trawlers landing their catches all day and a fish shop a hundred yards away at the end of the street. Fairground as well. Had f&c plus doughnuts far far too many times to the extent where I couldn’t face them now.
Same with Cointreau but that’s another episode along the lines of my trip to the Lake District anecdote that caused so much consternation on here a few weeks back.
It’s not big and it’s not clever*

Whats the betting THATS not a saying that crosses the Atlantic?

I was just visiting Fish Tank Enablers and they are the scariest bunch of people I have ever met. According to them, aquarium salt kills fish and medications are much safer to use. I had to come home to my TFF family. Love you guys. We are the best!

Off topic like everyone else, I have poor man's fish and chips all the time. A can of tuna and a pack of potatoe chips (aka crisps). And for variety I have a can of tuna and corn chips, the fish tastes better on corn chips than potatoe chips.

I used to manage a bar in Pimlico and our chef came to work past Billingsgate market every morning, one day he turned up with some fresh tuna steaks and done a tuna nicoise salad for that days special. It looked lovely and I had decided after the first one went out that was going to be my lunch.
Though it proved to be popular and we sold out, I served the last one in a crestfallen manner while thinking about what I was missiing out on.
But within 2 minutes the lady that had denied me my lunch was at the bar holding the dish and complaining the tuna was "off", I assured her that there was no way the tuna was off having come from the market that very morning.

"Well it's not like any tuna I've ever had before!"

"And where do you usually get your tuna?" (Suspecting the answer.)

"From a can!"

"That'll do madam, if you care to select another item menu I'll get that to you as soon as possible."

Best thing was she had only taken a forkful so I got my tuna for lunch after all. (Very pre-covid)

Big chunky chipper chips with vinegar and garlic mayo is the best.

@Ch4rlie I'd a vegetarian wedding  we were both veggies but then I got pregnant & was so unwell I found it hard to get enough protein. I started eating chicken & my husband ate meat to be supportive. Had baba & said ok cool let's go vegetarian again. My husband (who was vegetarian longer than I was) said NO WAY! He'd forgotten how good meat was and fish  I still eat chicken because I no time to prepare 2 family meals but think I will go veggie again.
