Would my tank be overstocked with the following:

30 uk gallon Tank
1 Dwarf Gourami
10 Red-tailed Rasbora
4 Cardinal Tetra
3 Serpae tetra
3 Bronze Corydora
3 Albino Corydora
2 Spotted Corydora

I think its grand but i'm a bit unsure.

It depends on what species the redtail rasboras are. If they are a small species (grows less than 2inches long) then they should be fine. If they get to more than a couple of inches then it might be too much for that size tank. It also depends on how much you feed them and how often you do water changes and gravel cleans.

You will also want to get more than 3 serpae tetras. Serpaes are fin nippers and cause all sorts of problems to fish with long fins and slow moving fishes. The problems are fewer when there are more fish in the group.

The Rasboras shouldn't get much over an inch,i think, so no problems there.

As for the Serpaes,i've heard that before. But i've had 3 in my tank for about 2 years now and never had any problems.

No, dont pay any atention to and inch per gallon rule, this doesntwork- however as long as ur tank has a good filter and is mature you could add a few more fishies

good luck

oh and get another dwarf gourami to make a pair- much happier then

Red tailed rasboras (Rasbora borapetensis) grow to 6cm/2". Also I would follow the 1"/gallon rule, it is only a guideline but I would follow it, adding one fish too many could spell disaster. Hardier alternatives to the Dwarf gouramis are Honey gouramis, the reason is that dwarfs are quite susceptible to DGIV (Dwarf gourami Iridovirus) and bacterial infections. However if you do get dwarfs make sure you obtain healthy specimens.

The inch per gallon rule is a good starting point, I still count my inches at 1.6"/gallon. HOwever, it's also generally an underestimate - everything past that is entirely dependent on water quality and related factors like maintenance and feeding.

Sorry.,people seem to be assuming this is a new set up.I've had this tank up for several years.its just that i was going to add to the Corys and didn't want to overdo it.

Issue then is the "spotted corydoras", keeping just two of one species when you can get more isn't great, they much prefer bigger groups, and with your stocking plan, the spotted corydoras would usually just stick together as a pair. Choose one species and get 8 of them. Albino and bronze are usually both C.aeneus, so your OK there.

look at the 36 gallon in my sig. my tank IS overstocked but has been running food for months now. i would recommend 60 gallons of filtration though. your water would be very clean then
